"CHARGE THE LINE!" There is much more to engine company operations than simply
"strecth hose, squirt water"...
How far can you stretch your attack lines?
How quickly?
How many people are required?
Our engine company classes focus on the primary mission of an aggressive interior attack:
getting water on the seat of the fire, FAST. If we put out the fire, all our other problems
go away. This is not your "basic engine" class: this is a collection of street-smart tips to
build on the skills your members already have.
We bring together experienced firefighters from a variety of respected departments -
allowing your members to learn multiple ways to solve a problem, from the perspectives
and operations of several different fire departments.
What will you learn in our Engine Operations Course?
How to mask up at the door in 30 seconds or less.
Various hoseloads for your engine and the pro's / con's of each.
A variety of techniques to stretch handlines 400-650 feet in under 90 seconds.
Why the back-up FF makes or breaks your stretch, and how to be a pro at it.
Effective use of smooth or combination nozzles to extinguish fire.
If you can really use a 2.5" as an interior line, and how to do it.
Various "standpipe" hose loads and how to deploy them effectively.
Our courses focus on the true operations of suburban fire departments. All operations
take into account manpower restrictions as well as rural / suburban water supply
operations. The engine company is the "backbone of the fire department" - let us help
you improve this essential operation.
