On March 24 & 25, 2007 we conducted another class at the Brookview apartment complex in
Claymont, DE. This class was hosted by the Delaware City Fire Department and covered truck
company operations. Time in the classroom was spent covering the duties of truck
companies, "two-team trucks", options for riding positions, and many operational tips for the
truck company & its members.
At Brookview, we made full use of the facility available to us. Each student had the
opportunity to force both an inward and outward opening door using the irons. Students
worked on both peaked and flat roofs using both axes and saws. In addition, we covered
some street-smart tips for portable ladders as well as working on searches and how/when to
use VES skills.
