This class was held on November 25 & 26, 2006 and a second session was held on December
2nd and 3rd.
The purpose of the class was to cover tips & tricks of the trade that had been learned over the
course of our careers. Material covered included handline advancement, extending handlines,
forcible entry, roof ventilation, VES techniques, FF survival, and RIT. The class was instructed
by T. Kelleher, N. Martin, Capt. B. Faust (DCFD TL-3), C. Stabner, T. Marshall, and E. Klima.
Of the 16-hours of the class, 12-hours were entirely hands-on, practical training.
Training was conducted at a acquired building complex in Claymont, DE.
Students ranged from career to volunteer, rookies to veterans, and came from as far away as
Hubbardston, Massachusetts. Thanks to all who attended and to the Claymont Fire
Department for their generous assistance.
